Music Time 29

So I’m in love with Dan Mangan right now. His new album, Oh Fortune, should be in your iTunes/Spotify/record player right now. It’s really, really amazing.

In honor of a rainy day (or a rainy day where I am), listen to this horrifyingly depressing track called “Jeopardy,” the final track off of the new album.

I shared it with a professor of mine early today, and I received this Dickinson poem in response:

Of course – I prayed –
And did God Care
He cared as much as on the Air
A Bird-had stamped her foot-
And cried “Give me”
My Reason – Life
I had not had-but Yourself-
‘Twere better Charity
To leave me in the Atom’s Tomb-
Merry, and Nought, and gay, and numb –
Than this smart misery

So how about that.

Check out this live video of another Mangan song I like. The band really gets into it.

  1. Hey, I stumbled upon your blog when I was looking up Acid Temple Ball on google. Thank you for the Dan Mangan suggestion, I dig it as well as your blog.

Thanks! Dan Mangan is great, and so is ATB. I will be making more posts about ATB in the future, especially because I am getting closer to finally being able to finish that project.
